 | VOLCANIC ASH (22 April 2010) VOLCANIC ASH -ALERT
With meteorologists predicting that the volcanic ash that has disrupted travel for the past week will now fall to earth, it could now present a further problem - for our cars.
If rubbed against the surface of paintwork or glass, it is known to be abrasive, and the acidity could cause corrosion to exposed metals and painted surfaces.
Once the ash/rain mixture has fallen and settled on the vehicles’ paint surface, a fine film of hard, abrasive and mildly corrosive dust will be left over. It’s important NOT to simply wipe off the ash, as this may cause micro scratching, resulting in dulled paintwork and scratched windows.
A-Glaze will provide some protection, as long as frequent washes are carried out. Twice a week is advisable.
How to safely wash volcano dust from your car
1. Before washing, make sure the vehicle is cool to the touch.
2. Thoroughly rinse the car bodywork with water to loosen surface deposits, preferably with a hose or pressure washer.
3. .Use a pH-neutral car shampoo/A-Glaze wash n Shine solution to neutralize acidic fallout.
4. Use two buckets rather than a single bucket, one bucket with shampoo to wash the vehicle bodywork. The second to rinse the sponge into, before you dip back in the shampoo bucket, to minimise the risk of putting ash particles back onto the car. Change the water frequently.
5. Keep the car wet with clean water while washing with a sponge - this keeps the surface of the paint lubricated to reduce the risk of scratching from any dust that remains on the bodywork.
6. Clean wiper blades and side window seals - which may harbor dust that scratches windows.
7. Rinse thoroughly with clean water to remove all shampoo from the car.
8. Dry the car using a high quality microfibre or synthetic chamois such as an A-Glaze Flunkie
9. Extra protection can be added by appling A-Glaze Active 3 or A-Glaze Reflections polish, this will help prevent further contaminants adhering to paintwork, and form a barrier against acidic deposits.
10. Wash frequently to minimize the risk of damage. |

GREAT SUCCESS AT THE LONDON BOAT SHOW 2008.......
67 Boats were presented using A-Glaze at this years Boatshow, among these boats were Fairline's Targa, Phantom and Squadron Fleet.
The A-Glaze stand, was as usual, a bustle of activity. Product Demonstrations were going on throughout the show and we were visited by many customers, existing and new. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support of A-Glaze and we look forward to an even better show in 2009. |

P.M - SUSSEX SAYS....... I had my car A-Glazed from new, last year, and I can't believe that it still looks as good as the day I got it. My car washes up beautifully and takes the absolute minimum of effort, the dirt just falls off. I use your U-Glaze shampoo, fantastic stuff.....
JRB - KENT WRITES...........Far to often, In today's litigious climate we are urged via the media etc to complain about the smallest problems, unfortunately this is done far to often and we generally are not passionate about praising good work or products etc. So I thought a short positive note would be welcome...
L.S - WESTON SUPER MARE WRITES......Thank you for my order which arrived yesterday at 10am, it was almost as quick as coming to pick it up. I was most impressed with the synthetic chamois, I have tried a few in my time, but this one is excellent, and does not go mushy when full of water. The Eradicator cleaning block is incredible, I cleaned my back doors and it has come up like new. I had my VW Golf A-Glazed, Fantastic finish on it.
'This is just to say that since using your products, how pleased we are with the finish. Unbelievable! We have used other leading products previously, but they did not produce the same finish. One of our cars is a new black BMW which has been treated with your paint protection and I am over the moon with the finish. |

| MAGAZINE ARTICLES (18 January 2007) VOLKSWAGON DRIVER - COMPETITION WINNER Volkswagon Driver Magazine ran a competition to win an A-Glaze treatment in their October'06 issue. This was won by reader Garfay Liu of Cambridge. The treatment was carried out on his Mk 3 GTi 16V on 27th November 2006. In the magazines February 2007 issue. Garfay has reported back on the success of the treatment: 'After not washing the 16V for a month, to get it as dirty as possible with the winter driving, then going through my two-bucket method for washing and drying, the paintwork is still looking pretty much as it did the day we did the A-Glaze treatment......................Words don't do justice to the finish.' LAND ROVER WORLD-NOVEMBER 2006 Article - Dirty Deeds 'Want your paint to last longer? Check this out'........Chris Lorigan Writes.. 'Our yellow Ninety takes a bit of punishment, and its recent bright paint job takes a hammering from the elements..........If you've got a Land Rover and you want it to look good all the time... this surface protection product might be the answer. AGlaze spent 2 hours preparing the surface and applying the sealant......I thought the Ninety was looking OK in it's yellow skin applied only a few months back, but once the Glaze was on it, it looked fantastic. All that was needed now was to head out and find some mud........After washing it by hand with water only, it came up looking like new, the mud and grit virtually slipping off. After cleaning it I threw a bit more mud at it and left it for a week, just to see if it would dull the paint underneath. It didn't the mud wiped easily off to reveal a perfect yellow glow. 'This sponge seems to remove marks and stains that would normally require some quite harsh chemicals. In fact we managed to remove some marks that all previos attempts, using a variety of vinyl cleaners, failed to shift. The sponge made light work of black streaks on fibreglass and even bought the ingrained dirt from a neglected bathing platform.'
